America's Next Top Model.

I am so happy that Ann won ANTM that I have to post about it!
She is a beautiful girl, loved her from the start. :)

Hello.
Haven't posted for a while, so thought I would drop a little line about what I've been up to...(for those of you who read my blog!) Well, this week I have been busy between work and work experience at Momiji.
Monday was a day creating Christmas crafty things for the Momiji online advent calender..sign up to it here. There will be lots of exciting things from it, I promise you! I've signed myself up. Me and the other work exp girl, Charly made a Christmas Tree out of paper and stuck it on the wall and decorated it. We also made candy wreaths, which are rather exciting, but quite time consuming!
See our efforts below..

And then we also got given some lovely freebies...

Silly Billy (White hair)
Coco (Black Hair)
Pudding - (Brown Pudding hair)

&

Robin in the snow globe were my doll freebies and I also got a little journal. :)

I have been at Momiji again today, making paper chains, microwave-able fudge and origami stars.. I started as a loser in the paper folding hobby, but then began to get the hang of it as the day went on.

All in all, it has been a nice few days there this week.

This Sunday I am heading to a crafts fair, where I will be taking my jewellery, tea towels, pinnies, bags and cards and other bits and bobbins along to sell. My friend Jessica Chan is also coming along to help and to bring some lovely laser cut necklaces and knitted necklaces. Check Jess out here. And to get details on the craft fair go here

Don't be a square, get your purse and head down to the fair to pick up some handmade treats for yourself and as xmas presents :)

arts trail.

For those of you that read my blog, you will know I travelled up to Leeds to participate in the Headingley Arts Trail. It was an okay weekend, although the map was badly made, we didn't really have many people come through our doors, but on the plus side I met some nice creative peoples...including Helen from hellomemo. Click on the link and check out her work, illustrations = amazing!
When I reached Leeds it made me miss uni and all the fun times shared with house mates and friends. It was nice though, maybe one day I will return and go to co-op at midnight for a vegetable pasty in my pyjamas.
A few photos of my work from that weekend...

The Snowman with a Mullet.

Say Hello to Indie-SnowMan. He's the coolest snowman in town , with a ginger mullet and cool accessories, like his pink spotted neckerchief and pink braces.

Indie-SnowMan is based on a snowman me & my friend Kimmi made last year in the massive snow attack fun. I decided to bring him to life in the form of a Christmas card this year, for those who want an alternative Christmas card, this ones for you. Stick the traditional stuff! (Although I do like it!)

I am hoping to get him printed soon, so if your a lucky friend, you may get Indie-SnowMan through your door come the xmas period!

Tea Towels

And the tea towels I've had made for the exhibition...
Thanks to the clever baggers.

Pinnies

Here are some pinnies I have hand drawn and made...
These will be coming with me to the headingley arts trail.

MOMIJI

I've been a little bit lazy and haven't really blogged anything for a while! I've had a little camping holiday in Wales and been on a bit of work experience with Momiji, which has been rather fun! Especially seeing all the new stock they have *smiles*

So yeah, I helped at Momiji on friday and produced 4 backdrops with Claire's help for the shoot. And then went back yesterday to lend a hand at the photoshoot, a long but fun filled day! And lots of tasty sarnies and cupcakes *happy belly*

Yeah, so I think you should check out Momiji online and start buying all the pretty little dolls :)
A few little photos from Friday (Kats photos which I took from facebook! Opps!)

big gap there...

hmm.. I'm not too sure how that big gap happened in between the photos!
SORRY!

Gypsy Photoshoot

I wanted to show my tea towels in the original place of research, where all my inspirations and stories had come from and to show the idea behind my work. A nice sunny afternoon I made my way to where the gypsies had homed themselves in my home town, Redditch.
We chatted, I showed them my tea towels and explained how they were made and told them about my ideas for the photo shoot, they loved the idea of it and told me to go ahead and do what I needed to do.
I got some pretty cool photos, some which up in my degree show.

So...here they are

As a thanks to them, I am currently making Pete & Rach a couple of tea towels I know they like. :-)

It's been a while!

I know its been a while since I last updated here, but I have been extremely busy with creating work for my degree show.. I promise I'll get some more imagery up very soon.

Collection 4:

Gypsy Traveller.
My fourth and final collection for my degree show.
The collection consists of designs created with my drawings by hand and on illustrator of gypsy caravans, waggons and lorries. Including detailed imagery from the gypsy homes, the designs will be a mix of capturing the world of the traveller and the decor in which they love.

Pretty Little Owls

Collection 3 : Pretty Little Owls.

Owls alone, with florals or other detailed patterns.
The owls became a personal favourite throughout my early design process.
They just had to have a collection of their own.

Tea Party

Tea Party is my second collection.
I love tea and gypsies love tea too, as on my travels searching for research I always come across tea sets, cups, jugs, spoons and pots amongst the gypsy home.

Tea Towel design 1.

Printed Length design 4.

Gypsy Florals

Tea Towel design 6.

Gypsy Florals

Gypsy Florals is my first collection for my degree show.
